Adding cards

How do I add a card?

Tap Add card and point the camera at the barcode on your loyalty card. Pointy Rewards fills in the barcode for you; give the card a name and pick its colors. If a barcode won't scan, tap Enter manually and type the number printed under the barcode.

Which barcodes work?

EAN-13, Code 128, Codabar and QR codes. You can also keep a card that has no barcode at all, just its number.

The app can't use my camera

Open the iPhone Settings app, scroll to Pointy Rewards, and turn on Camera. You can always add a card by typing its number instead.

Can I bring cards over from another wallet app?

Yes. Take screenshots of your cards in the other app, then go to Settings, Add from screenshots, and pick them. Pointy Rewards reads the barcodes and names, and lets you check each one before it's added.

The cashier's scanner won't read my barcode

The app turns your screen brightness up while a barcode is showing. If it still won't scan, hold the phone flat and steady a few inches from the scanner, and make sure the number in the app matches your physical card. Some laser scanners can't read phone screens at all; in that case, read out the number shown under the barcode.

Apple Wallet

How do I add a card to Apple Wallet?

Open the card and tap Add to Apple Wallet. The pass is made on our server, so you need an internet connection for this step. After that, the pass works in Wallet without the app.

Adding to Wallet didn't work

Check that you're online and try again in a minute. If it keeps failing, email us with the card's barcode type (not the number) and what the message said.

Widgets

How do I add a widget?

Touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen or lock screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Pointy Rewards. In the app, Settings, Widgets shows each kind.

Your cards

Where are my cards stored?

Only on your iPhone. There's no account, and cards aren't synced between devices. See the privacy policy for the details.

I'm getting a new phone. How do I keep my cards?

Cards are part of your iPhone's backup, so restoring a new iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup brings them along. To keep your own copy as well, go to Settings, Export cards, and save the file somewhere safe.

I archived a card. How do I get it back?

Go to Settings, Archived cards, and restore it from there.

How do I delete all my data?

Delete the app. Everything it stored is removed with it. Remove any Pointy Rewards passes from Apple Wallet too, if you added some.
